Selecting the pump materials and impeller shape most suited to the type of fluid being pumped, while taking the amount of suspended solids and chemical composition into account, is another essential factor when constructing pump stations.
A choice of vertical-axis, horizontal-axis or submersible pumps are available to optimise layout and facilitate maintenance operations. Fixed and variable displacement motors are available depending on work cycles and partial machine loads. Diesel motor pumps or electric pumps interlocked to generators ensure the water supply in the event of power shutdown.
